Portion management
Formulation is often done at production scale, but at the same time, certain analytical values per portion (for prod specs) need to be known. It is not easy to match these processes in a dynamic way without the right software. In BESTMIX®, portions can be defined and added to recipes. Upon formulating, you have instant insight in the info per portion. This info can be used directly in the product specifications.
Simple recalculations of recipes
If you do your formulation in Excel, it is quite cumbersome to modify aspects in a dynamic way. You would want to replace an ingredient with automatically recalculated analysis / claim values / allergen values. Or you would also want to switch between the test scale and the production scale. In BESTMIX®, the nutritional analysis, allergen status and claim status of the recipe is automatically calculated during the formulation. This way you immediately know the impact on the recipe of any changes you make. Furthermore, you can create a formulation as compared to 1 kg (lab scale). When approved, you can simply modify the total weight of the recipe and BESTMIX® will automatically calculate the composition towards a total weight of for instance 200 kg.
