Friday 30 April was the last working day for our colleague Dirk. After almost 42 years of service, he closed the door behind him one last time. We thanked him with a delicious tapas dish and a farewell video of colleagues and customers. So even in these times of corona, Dirk was able to enjoy a small party. We say goodbye with a look back at his career.
After his training as a programmer, Dirk started at Adifo on 16 July 1979. He had been hired straight from school by the De Lille family. Dirk experienced Adifo’s growth close up and saw the company evolve from a provider offering a wide range of packages (salary and accounting packages among others) to one specialising in the nutrition industry. Although initially hired to write salary packages, Dirk was actually an all-rounder: he was a developer, he delivered programs to customers and he also guided the latter in their use. These days, we have different departments for all these tasks, but Dirk combined them into one job.
I have always found bettering myself to be very important,” Dirk says. “Obviously I haven’t been doing the same thing for 42 years. I kept on programming until Adifo’s customer growth led to the need to set up a customer service department.” As Customer Service Manager, Dirk led the helpdesk employees.
Thank you for your many years of dedication!
We at Adifo would like to thank Dirk for his many years of dedication. We will remember him as a practically-minded man who always a kind word for everyone. With his gift for languages and his calm and practical nature, Dirk put an extensive and customer-friendly helpdesk in place at Adifo and played a key role in building and maintaining international customer relationships.
Dirk, thank you and enjoy this new chapter to the fullest!
