This is a strong sign that the industry is fully embracing in-person collaboration and continues to seek strategies and knowledge to advance business. There were several presentations from keynote speakers on the common values among pet owners and the groundwork for retaining employees. Additionally, over 20 globally recognized presenters shared new research and data on a variety of topics including the long-term effects of commercially available diets on cats’ health, exploring nutrition among pet food shopper segments, new developments in processing meat-analog pet foods, fostering a positive food safety culture and much more. With the ever-changing pet food industry, it is paramount to evolve our processes for formulation and quality management. Utilizing software, we can keep pace with recipe changes due in part to supply issues or ingredient availability to ensure maximum quality of the formulas. Additionally, many companies are focusing on the quality of the existing ingredients or are in the process of evaluating new ingredients for the possible inclusion in their formulas and need a way to receive, store and utilize this new information. Looking forward to the next major changes in the pet food industry, formulation and quality software are key aspects of continued success.
