Adifo-BESTMIX® showcased ways to introduce sustainability in feed formulation at IPPE marked the company’s 10th year exhibiting at one of the world’s largest trade shows
IPPE (International Production & Processing Expo) held in Atlanta (Jan. 25-27) is the world’s largest annual display of technology, equipment, supplies and services used in the egg, meat and poultry industries as well as in feed manufacturing. It was held last week. This year the event hosted over 1,100 exhibitors in person. Although the number of visitors was down to 75 % due to the international covid travel restrictions, the still more than 22,000 attendees were actively on the look out for new trends and technologies. Next to US visitors, we also welcomed a significant number of Latin-American attendees on our booth.
Increased interest in smart feed formulation and profit driven Quality Control
“This year, we saw an increased interest from feed producers in finding out how they could streamline their logistical and financial processes with software that is dedicated to their business and how to reach the most profit out of smart feed formulation." says Bea Van Deynse, marketing manager at Adifo-BESTMIX.
Feed producers also showed a genuine interest in quality control software. They were looking for an intelligent platform for collecting quality data as well as a tool for transforming this data into real value. As companies need to be able to respond to the ever-growing requirements of quality control, risk management, certifications and legislation they want to move away from the disparate management of quality data in multiple and personal Excel files. Saving time and avoiding errors has become key.
Producing animal feed in a sustainable way
More and more feed producers recognize the importance of sustainability as one of the game changers in the animal feed sector and other nutrition industries for the coming years. There is a clear need to be able to rapidly and dynamically assess feed formulation scenarios and associated life cycle sustainability impacts.
With sustainable feed production being a hot topic in today’s market, Tami Smith’s showcase on how to include sustainability as extra parameter in the composition of feed recipes was well attended.

Looking forward to IPPE 2023
At IPPE, the industry’s producers, supply chain and business partners once again joined together to grow their knowledge, share new technology advancements, and make connections with leaders from around the globe,” says Bea Van Deynse. “In our 10th year as an exhibitor, it is a continued honor to participate, and we are looking forward to the next edition in Atlanta (2023, Jan. 24 – 26).
